Goal #1: read more (not on screen reading, either)

So I finally signed up on Goodreads. I'm still figuring it out. From the looks of it, though, I'm apparently the last person in the world to be on there. Hopefully it will encourage me to actually finish books. I'm not used to having free reading air since I was in school for forever. I hear paper is better on the eyes, though, than an LCD screen. So I might try to renew my acquaintance with the ol' bound pulp.

You should check out www.paperbackswap.com. If you books you no longer want, then just post them on your 'bookshelf'. When somebody requests a book then you mail it to them and earn a credit. You can then earn that credit to choose a book from somebody else's bookshelf and they pay for shippiing to you. It's great because you can just enter in a ton of books on your 'wish list' and you never forget about a book you wanted to read. I've got a bunch of good books this way. Try it! www.paperbackswap.com.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of Goodreads. I am not sure yet. I am not good at keeping up with it and it feels a bit overwhelming to me to stay up on what twenty other people are reading when I'm just trying to keep up with my own, plus the seven million books about Greece and Rome I read with the kids, etc. We'll see.

P.S. - I like that I have to verify that I "really am a human" to post a comment here. :)
