Update your feeds!

OK, peeps. Update your feeds, and let me know if you have any trouble. The address, ab612.partialflow.com should work, and the old cjones.jwnmedia.com/ab612 will soon be removed. From this point forward the old feed will not work.

If you read me on the web, then you are not affected by this change.

ATTENTION AB612 READERS

Another change in this blog's address is pending. Some time soon (either tonight or some time tomorrow) your feed readers will need to be updated to use the address, http://ab612.partialflow.com.

For the technically minded:

Those of you using feed readers had to use the address, http://cjones.jwnmedia.com/ab612 to access this blog's feed because I was using url forwarding on the subdomain ab612. What we didn't realize when we made the initial move was that the rss feed wouldn't come from the forwarding address, ab612.partialflow.com, but from the real address, cjones.jwnmedia.com/ab612. This is unfortunate, since we were never 100% committed to this host. We used a subdomain of partialflow precisely so that we could avoid having to ask people to update addresses all over again, in case we decided to change hosts. Sorry. But this should be the last change you have to make. Thanks for bearing with us.

Dear Readers,

Thank you for patience and loyalty in my grand switch to Asteroid B612 and Drupal.

Sorry about all the spam recently. We've been trying to work on that, introducing the Captcha thingy. I just changed it from Impossible Image to Decipher Captcha to Your Elementary Math Facts Captcha. Hopefully, that will a little bit more user-friendly. Sorry about the angst.

I (well, hubby did it) also added a feature where you can send me a note by filling out a form--see the header menus. Or you can just send me an old-fashioned email. I may remove my email address from the left sidebar eventually, but for now it's fine.

Now I have one question for you. I have noticed that I seem to be getting fewer comments on the whole than I was back at Moot Thoughts & Musings, and while that is totally your prerogative and I don't take it personally, I was wondering if there were something about my new blog that makes it more difficult/intimidating to leave a comment (aside from the recent Captcha issue). Is anyone having any trouble? Or do you have questions about the new format? I'm just curious, because we had a good thing going there, and I miss you a little. Could be just slow summer plus my boring blog. ha!

You will also be noticing some template changes around here. We'll be tweaking for awhile. I had to live with Plain and Minimalist for awhile. Needed to clear my head. Now that I've lived in this space for awhile, I'm starting to want to beautify it a bit. It's been a big adjustment switching to Drupal, but it's fun!

Thanks for your love.

All the best,
Diber

Organizing

My blog now has categories. I'm still going through the archives assigning tags. Peruse to your heart's content.

This is the cool thing about Drupal. Hierarchical categories. A veritable taxonomy of blog entries.

Eat me up

To add the new blog into your feed reader click the orange square under where it says "Syndicate" in the left sidebar. I had no trouble loading it into Google reader that way.

This is the official feed address: http://cjones.jwnmedia.com/ab612/rss.xml

Welcome!

If you're coming here from my old blog, Welcome!

Cool digs, huh? I'm still working on it. This place will be looking pretty spiffy soon. The hardest work is done, and hubby basically did all that part. Three cheers for him!

I actually got a blog award nomination!

In the Blogosphere, usually at the end of the year, various awards get handed out by various websites, usually through a nomination process--i.e. your blog gets nominated enough, and you get an award. I've never gotten an award. I feel like I have a solid blog, but not necessarily a distinctive one, know what I mean? I don't really care. But for the first time this year, my blog became a sort of hotbed of discussion. It kind of freaked me out a little bit, because I'm not really a rabble rouser. The big discussion was: we got a CI for our deaf 2yo, but we're raising him bilingually/biculturally. He goes to the local Deaf school and we use ASL, as well as jaunting off to speech therapy. we are a hearing family. I have met very, very few people who approach the deaf thing and the CI thing quite like we do. Not everyone--Deaf or hearing--really understands where we are, but we try to be honest.

So I got a blog award nomination from the great site of Deaf blogs/vlogs, DeafRead: 2007 Hearing Ally blog. This just makes my day.

Whoops: it's just award nominations. But still. It feels just as cool.

resistance is useless

Da diber and Da blog.

Hey, now both of my parents are blogging.

Mom and now Dad.

I think blogging is for old people now. Facebook is for the kids. I'm old now, in case you were wondering. I was given a box of Russel Stover chocolate for Christmas. That's what we used to give my Grandma. I am officially old.
